Foster that natural curiosity in your little one by venturing outdoors to ‘spy’ what’s happening at Gibson Woods Nature Preserve. Each session will include a story, craft, snack and plenty of outdoor exploration. Pre-registration required; please call 219-844-3188.

Ever Wonder how to use a compass to get around outdoors? Combined with map reading, this is a valuable nature skill. Learn the basics in this introductory indoor and outdoor workshop. Pre-registration required; please call 219-844-3188. Homeschool, scout and other groups are welcome to attend, but families.

Discover the natural wonders of the Lake County Parks during a monthly play date. We will meet at a different park each month to see what nature has in store to explore. Ages 2-6 with caregiver.  Play dates are every 3rd Friday of each month.

For ages 8 and up

Animals have amazing adaptations to survive in nature, but humans have some handy tools to get along. Join us as we learn about 3’s of survival, and try out hand at fire building and wild shelter building. Wear shoes/clothes you do not mind getting dirty. Pre-registration required; please call 219-844-3188. Homestead, scout and other groups are welcome to attend, but families must register individually.
