Gibson Woods
Every 2nd Monday of the month from 9:30 -11:30 AM

For ages 3-5 with caregiver
Foster that natural curiosity in your little one by venturing outdoors to ‘spy’ what’s happening at Gibson Woods Nature Preserve. Each session will include a story, craft, snack and plenty of outdoor exploration. Pre-registration required; please call 219-844-3188.
“Green” Crafts
Wednesdays, June 10, July 8, August 5 from 1:30-3:30 PM

For ages 4 and up
Reuse and recycle some common items from home into cool “green” crafts. Each session will have a different craft. Pre-registration required; please call 219-844-3188. Homestead, scout and other groups are welcome to attend, but families must register individually.
Nature Rocks
Saturday, June 13 at 10 AM
Deep River
$4 per person
Designed for ages 5-10
It’s a game of hide and seek with painted rocks. Paint your very own rock to hide (or keep). Next take a hike throughout the park to look for painted rocks. Then finish the day with a rock candy treat. Welcome to all ages. Hike is parent led! Cost $4 per person. Registration is required by calling the park at 219-947-1958. Space is limited.

Discover the natural wonders of the Lake County Parks during a monthly play date. We will meet at a different park each month to see what nature has in store to explore. Ages 2-6 with caregiver. Play dates are every 3rd Friday of each month.

Nature’s Circle
Friday, June 12, July 3 and 24 & August 14 10:30 -11:15 AM
Ages 2-6
Let’s learn to enjoy nature together at an outdoor circle time, as we celebrate the summer reading theme of “Imagine Your Story.” Read a story, sing silly songs, and have lots of fun, helping little ones comfortably engage in a natural setting. A short walk will end our time together.
