Basket weaving workshop

Experienced teacher Julie Duttlinger is leading our popular basket workshops again in 2018. See below for more information on each session-- a finished product is guaranteed by the end of the class!

Register by calling 219-769-7275. Registration and payment is required by June 7 for the first session, and August 30 for the second. 

Pot luck basket

  • Thursday, June 13 or Saturday, June 15
  • 9 am - 2 pm each day
  • $42 (include basket materials)
  • 4H level B, C, D
  • Children under age 15 should have an adult stay to assist. 

Description: 10" x 15" x 7" soild woven bottom basket with D handles with colors, used to carry food to pot luck meals

Christmas in Septemeber - stocking

  • Thursday, September 5 or Saturday, September 7
  • 9 am - 2 pm each day
  • $32 (includes basket materials)
  • 4H level C, D
  • Children under age 15 should have an adult stay to assist. 

Description: 12" x 10 " reeds woven into shape of stocking with traditional Christmas colors and cute accent details

What to bring

Registrants should plan to bring:

  • 3 gallon bucket (or larger)
  • 8+ clip clothespins
  • scissors
  • pencil
  • tape measure/ruler
  • an old towel
  • a spray bottle
  • an awl, and/or a small flat screwdriver and/or a knitting needle

Work clothes are recommended and a sack lunch and a drink should also be brought. 

Please note: There is a limited space capacity, and a minimum required to run each class.
