Fall Hike

Clear your head.

We know this election season (well, this whole year) has been stressful. New studies show spending as few as 10 minutes outside can have a positive impact on your mental health (Cornell, 2020). Your Lake County parks and trails will be open for the remainder of the year from 7 am until around sunset.
If you're feeling overwhelmed, we encourage you to get out-- whether at one of our parks, another park, or just around your neighborhood-- for a quick walk outside. You can find a list of all our parks and their locations at https://lakecountyparks.com/148/Parks.

Thank you Veterans

Veterans Day 2020

While we are unable to hold our traditional Veterans Day gathering, the day still deserves to be marked with gratitude for our nation's vets. Beginning next week you can join us for a self-guided Veterans Day experience at Stoney Run County Park any day from November 8 through November 14.

Visitors to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial at Stoney Run will be able to walk through stations in a self-guided experience celebrating our nation’s veterans. The culmination of this event will provide an opportunity to write a note of appreciation to a local veteran. These notes will be shared on social media and then distributed to area organizations serving veterans.

All ages are encouraged to participate. The different stations, including the card writing opportunity, will be out daily from 7 am until 4 pm. Hand sanitizer will be provided for visitors to sanitize before and after writing their note. Groups or classrooms wishing to participate but unable to travel to Stoney Run should contact Lake County Parks by emailing info@lakecountyparks.com with your contact info and the number of cards you'd like. We are happy to deliver and pick up your cards.
