Experience the magic of maple syrup
Step into the sweet season and experience maple syrup making from tree to table. Learn what tree sap is, which trees can be tapped, and how sap is collected during hourly Tree Talks led by local experts. Visit with voyageurs as they demonstrate traditional maple sugar making over a campfire and share stories from the early days of the trade.
Stop inside the Sugar Shack to watch sap slowly evaporate into rich, dark amber syrup using a wood-fired evaporator, then explore the historic Woods Grist Mill and sample freshly made syrup. The Deep River General Store will be open for shopping, with syrup and other treats available to take home. Hands-on activities throughout the site invite visitors of all ages to learn, explore, and enjoy this timeless spring tradition.
