Dunes-Calumet Audubon Society normally meets the 3rd Thursday of each month at 7 PM.

ODD MONTH MEETINGS will be held in Porter County at the Indiana Dunes National Park Training Room at 1100 N Mineral Springs Rd, Porter. First Building on your right as you enter the parking lot.

EVEN MONTH MEETINGS will be held in Lake County at Gibson Woods Nature Preserve at 6201 Parrish Ave., Hammond.

Brad Bumgardner, Executive Director of Indiana Audubon Society, will share with us an exploration of Indiana's new statewide Birding Trail. As a gateway to avian conservation and adventure, this comprehensive connection of birding tourism destinations encourages all to seek out the diversity of birds at these natural sites. Monthly Bird Walk

Hammond Lakefront Park & Bird Sanctuary        

The group will meet trip leader Matt Igleski at the Hammond Bird Sanctuary at 8:30a to look for waterfowl, gulls, and hopefully a snowy owl. The Hammond Bird Sanctuary is a designated Indiana Birding Trail site and is included in the Indiana Audubon Society #21in21 Challenge. Downloaded your gamecard at and visit 21 birding trail sites for a chance to win great prizes.

Total time about 2-3 hours. Free and open to the public, but please RSVP through Dunes-Calumet Audubon website as capacity is limited due to Covid-19. Please wear a mask, travel with only your household group, and sanitize your hands often.
