Wood's Historic Grist Mill 50th & 150th celebration

Deep River County Park is excited to announce the Wood’s Historic Grist Mill Celebration: An Old-Fashioned Ice Cream Social on Sunday, August 30, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. This special free event will celebrate two major milestones: the 150th anniversary of the Mill’s construction in 1876 and the 50th anniversary of its dedicated 1976 restoration.

The afternoon will transport guests back in time with a classic ice cream social atmosphere:

• Americana/Folk Music: Live performances will fill the air near the Gazebo.
• Ice Cream Social: Guests can purchase classic sundaes and refreshing sarsaparilla floats. A food truck will also be on-site offering additional food purchases.
• Historical Exhibits: Enter the Mill to view stunning photos celebrating the Mill’s history and the 1976 restoration efforts. 
• Old-Fashioned Fun: Enjoy classic games, stilts, and the chance to make your own ice cream.
